50 Cent and Shyne appear to have closed the book on a rivalry that stretched back more than two decades. During a recent television appearance, Shyne explained that the two crossed paths while dining separately at Serafina and eventually spoke face-to-face.
In a social media post following Shyne’s comments, 50 Cent praised his former rival’s growth and acknowledged the direction his life has taken. He also suggested that he could visit Belize when his schedule allows.
Shyne said the reconciliation fits with the role he now sees for himself as an elder statesman in hip-hop. He explained that he has tried to extend olive branches to people with whom he previously had disagreements.
The history between the two artists dates back to the early 2000s, when they exchanged insults and diss records. Shyne answered one of 50 Cent’s attacks with the 2004 track For the Record, and the tension continued for years.
Their recent meeting marks a calmer chapter for two figures whose careers have moved far beyond their original conflict.
